At least 250 million Christians in more than 30 countries face persecution every day.
Persecuted Christians are heavily fined, tortured or imprisoned by local corrupt police; new converts are hunted or killed by religious radicals; they are denied jobs or isolated by families—just for following Jesus.
In Australia, we have an amazing opportunity to provide for the persecuted—our brothers and sisters in Christ—with what they need most…prayer and Bibles
- They ask us to send Bibles
- The greater the persecution the more likely it is that Bibles are expensive, restricted or unavailable.
- God’s Word brings strength to the persecuted.
- The New Testament was written by the persecuted for the persecuted.
- Verses of encouragement through persecution gives them eternal hope and boldness.
In Matthew 13:21 it says:
“But since he has no root, he lasts only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, he quickly falls away.” Matthew 13:21 NIV
The need for Bibles is urgent and through WALK4BIBLES youcan make a difference!
- Prayer is the most powerful weapon we have.
- There is great power and authority when a group of Christians come together and pray.
- When we pray the Holy Spirit intercedes for us and change happens!
- God invites us to present to Him our requests and to pray without ceasing.
During WALK4BIBLES we encourage you to pray for the oppressors, the governments that allow and even promote persecution, for the persecuted to have strength, for them to be bold in sharing God’s Word with others and for their protection.
“Remember those in prison as if you were their fellow prisoners, and those who are mistreated as if yourselves were suffering.” Hebrews 13: 3 NIV
