Reaching many people for Christ

In spite of the current economic difficulties in Russia, Bible League has seen their ministry partners become more active in evangelism and spreading God’s Word.

In 2008, Bible League trained 7,750 people as Bible study leaders and another 123 people as church planters. These newly trained people placed Scriptures and led many seekers to Jesus Christ.

A Bible League worker in the north of Central Russia said that people have responded positively to Bible League’s Scripture materials.

“Many pastors of the churches started using these materials in their Bible study groups,” he said. “One church planter worked with children and he took 180 booklets for their lessons. Another church planter conducted evangelism in prisons using our books and many Bible study groups were established there.

“Our church planters worked with children during summer holidays using the literature of Bible League and 350 children started studying the Bible. There is no other mission in Russia that spreads the Scripture like the Bible League. I see many opportunities for developing our ministry in this country.”

Kids Spot

Kate, who is 11-years-old, lives in a village in the far east of Russia and has known the Lord since she was a little girl. She would often share about Jesus with her school friends, yet, they would rarely listen.

Kate didn’t want to give up so she recently decided to present them each with a New Testaments as a gift. But the children found them difficult to read, so Kate decided to study a Bible League Project Philip for Children course with her best friend. Some time later other classmates decided to join them. Six pupils in her Bible study group have finished this course. Now the Bible is interesting to them because they can understand what it says.

We praise the Lord for Kate and for the many children who study the Bible through her ministry.
