| It seemed that everyone had given up on reaching the 170,000 Samburu people, a semi-nomadic, warrior race in Kenya.
But Johan, a Bible League-trained church planter, decided he would reach the Samburu people with the Good News of Jesus. When Johan told his church leader about this, he was told not to bother. “We’ve tried to reach the Samburu tribe for years but to no avail,” the church leader said. “They won’t have anything to do with us or with Christianity. We’re closing churches in this area.”
Johan listened to the caution but he refused to give up. “Thanks for the warning,” Johan said. “But I am going to try anyway. I am going to reach the Samburu with Christ.”

Johan faced many obstacles but after one year a miracle occurred. Hearts began to open to Jesus and Johan baptised 111 believers in one day.
“The training and Scriptures I received from Bible League have equipped me in reaching my community,” Johan said.
Three months later, Johan completed his Bible League training and witnessed more than 200 Samburu people give their lives to Jesus—their lives had changed for eternity.
Last year, through Bible League’s Church Planter Training there were 5,800 churches established throughout the world. Bible League’s trained church planters know their people, the language and culture in the areas where they work. They put God’s Word in the hands of those who are seeking, they are available to teach, answer questions, guide and lead people into a relationship with Jesus.
Just $21 provides three Bibles in the heart language of seekers across the World. Will you partner with Bible League to equip church planters in taking God’s Word into previously unreachable communities?
