The north-south civil war in Sudan is seen as one of the worst nightmares in recent history, costing the lives of 1.5 million people.
The war has created a great need for God’s Word after millions of Bibles were destroyed in the war between the mainly Muslim north and the Animist and Christian south.
“Congregations are increasing and new believers are being baptised.”
Pastors who are working with Bible League in Sudan report how many lives are being changed as God’s Word is made available.
“In these bad times, many Sudanese are repenting and coming to know Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour. Congregations are increasing and new believers are being baptised. Our Bible study groups are home to many returning refugees. God is using Bible League ministry to water many thirsty souls with the Gospel.”
A Bible League worker also testifies about the impact of Scripture placement in his own life.
“For the last two and a half years that I have worked in this office, I have experienced a lot of changes in my life. As I read the testimonies coming from the field, as I handle the many Scriptures that come to our warehouse and as I fellowship with my brothers and sisters in the office, my Christian walk with Christ has been deepened. I am now a stronger Christian than when I first joined Bible League.”
Despite the difficult conditions in which Bible League works in southern Sudan, 17,177 people were baptised as new church members last year!
Help support our suffering brothers and sisters with what they want most—a Bible. PLACE Bibles with persecuted Christians.
When did Sudan become an Islamic Republic?
